About Lightning Docs:

• Lightning Docs is a SAAS company, developed by the nation’s largest private lending law firm – Geraci LLP. We exist to provide our clients with a powerful tool for automating their loan document production, and we are looking to add a self-motivated legal template developer to our team.

• A Coder. You must be someone with document coding (or similar) experience. We are open to teaching you the programs we use and having you learn on the job, but you must have the experience and mindset to code complex concepts.

Job responsibilities will include:

• Automating Success. Not only does Geraci LLP’s legal team rely on Lightning Docs to service their clients, but the LD team also provides a portal where clients can draw documents themselves. We are looking for a Document Template Developer to assist our VP of Product Development with coding customized documents and templates for this use.
• Continuously improving documents to streamline coding and assist with related projects. The person in this role will work to help eliminate waste and further improve processes, systems, standardization and to optimize our existing codebase.
• Communicating with executive team regularly regarding the status of various coding projects.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

• This position involves developing the logic to turn legal documents into auto-filling templates, and helping to maintain a large set of such templates. For this purpose we use the Knackly scripting language. Prior knowledge of this technology would be useful but not required; we expect to teach you much of what you need to know. Instead, candidates should have experience working with similar application scripting languages, and understand which can serve as a useful starting point.
• Candidates must be local to Irvine, the position requires in-office attendance
• Knowledge of the following scripting languages (helpful, but not required): Python, R, VBA/VBScript, or Javascript.
• Proficient in MS Office
• Understanding of SQL or MongoDB (helpful, but not required)
• Understanding of JIRA, Trello, Zoho or other workflow management software (helpful, but not required)
• Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) preferred
• Paralegal or other legal background, particularly real estate (helpful, but not required)
• Ability to work well under pressure, manage personal workload effectively, and communicate with the rest of the team regarding project status and the challenges you come across.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $70,000-$180,000

Compensation will be based on experience level. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, job location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Geraci LLP is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.

Other compensation: “Other Compensation” includes, but is not limited to, bonuses, profit-sharing, or other forms of compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range or wage scale.
