About The Internship Program:
We are looking to hire an intern for our 10-week summer internship program, which will run from June to August. During the program, participants may assist in identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and presenting potential trading, financing and investment opportunities for the firm. The program will create and reinforce skills in financial analysis, risk management, and business development within the commodities sector, allowing participants a valuable opportunity to gain practical knowledge, develop industry connections, and explore potential career paths in the industry.
What We Are Looking For:
- Applicants must be in their junior or senior year at a 4-year accredited college or university.
- Must be able to work in our Stamford, CT office 5 days a week.
- Have a strong interest in commodities.
- Major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or similar.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Self-starter, able to work independently or in a team environment.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced Excel skills in modeling and financial valuation.
- Highly proactive attitude.
- Ability to work 40 hours/week strongly preferred.
- Multi-lingual candidates are a plus.
What The Intern Will Do:
- Gain practical knowledge and exposure to credit risk assessments for various departments of the Gerald Group.
- Perform credit reviews and analyze financial data and other market-related information.
- Special projects and other administrative functions as assigned.
