- 4 year college degree in Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum 2 year of proven experience in industrial automation
- Strong communication Skills (verbal, written, listening) including ability to communicate effectively with all levels or organization
- Basic understanding of steelmaking process
- Ability to troubleshoot and modify ABB robot logic
- Ability to troubleshoot modify PLC logic using programs such as GE Proficy, Rockwell Studio 5000, and Siemens TIA Portal
- HMI design and implementation using GE Cimplicity
- Knowledge of industrial networking protocols such as, Ethernet IP, Modbus RTU, Profibus, Profinet, And Devicenet

Your Work
- Responsible for programming and maintaining drives, HMIs, PLC's, and robots
- Document and maintain process parameters and setpoints
- Support development of level 1 and level 2 systems
- Troubleshoot and analyze electrical maintenance problems using PLC software, and data acquisition systems
- Provide support to maintenance and operations including on-call and call-in duties when necessary
- Train / coach electricians, mechanics, and contractors to improve their equipment knowledge as well as troubleshooting abilities
- Provide oversite of contracted Integrators or Suppliers
- Provide managerial and technical support for CAPEX projects (from development of scope to commissioning)
- Manage the data and image acquisition systems
- Collaborate with the IT department in the management and maintenance of networks (switches, servers, and process computers)
- Collaborate with the Operations and Maintenance teams on analyzing failures and developing corrective actions plans
- Collaborate with the Engineering department on the development of long-term automation strategy for the area
