What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at Gerding Enterprises, Inc.?
Duties:
- Develop and write CNC programs for machining operations using CATIA software
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts
- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents to determine the best machining methods and sequences
- Select appropriate tooling, such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers, to ensure accurate measurements
- Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions of finished parts
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the machining process
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in CNC programming preferred
- Strong math skills, including a solid understanding of geometry and trigonometry
- Proficiency in CATIA software or similar CAD/CAM programs
- Knowledge of mechanical principles and machining techniques
- Experience with precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
