What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator- FIRST SHIFT 7am-3pm position at GERHARDI?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects and approves materials by confirming specifications
- Operates machine according to training and work instruction
- Performs visual inspection of the surface of injected, hot stamped as well as assembled goods according to customer specific requirements
- Performs rework based on instructions and samples provided
- Documents inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputs data into database
- Escalates repetitive defects immediately to Team Leader
- Ensures non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated
- Maintains an organized, clean and safe work environment
- Informs Team Leader prior to running out of materials necessary to continue production such as foil, etc.
- Supports other production workstations as required or assigned
- Efficiently cross-trained in all job functions (Injection Molding, Hot Stamping, Assembly, Inspection, Foil Application, Engle) within respective department with occasional or consistent rotation into other positions.
- Performs other tasks as needed or assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrates great attention to detail
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Knowledge of injection molding and hot stamping specific defects and appearances
- Advise Team Leader of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.; assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations as well as federal, state and local regulations
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team or independently.
- Ability to quickly learn production equipment and inspection of materials/parts
- Ability to complete an assigned task in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness and must understand and follow all safety rules.
EXPERIENCE: Preferred two years previous manufacturing experience
