The P&C Insurance Customer Service Representative is responsible for assisting customers with inquiries related to insurance policies, claims, and billing. This role requires knowledge of insurance products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage customer concerns effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support:
- Answer phone calls and emails from customers, agents, and brokers.
- Explain billing, premium, and payment details to customers.
Claims Processing Assistance:
- Assist in filing and processing claims, ensuring that all necessary information is provided to facilitate prompt resolution.
- Follow up on claims status and communicate updates to customers.
- Help customers with understanding the claims process and any documentation required.
Policy Management:
- Help customers with policy renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Assist with updating policyholder information such as contact details, beneficiaries, or coverage changes.
- Ensure that all customer requests are documented accurately in the system.
Problem Resolution:
- Resolve complaints or concerns related to claims, billing, or service, in a professional manner.
- Work closely with underwriters, claims adjusters, and other departments to resolve customer issues.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate senior personnel or management.
Sales Support:
- Identify cross-selling or up-selling opportunities for additional coverage based on customer needs.
Compliance and Record Keeping:
- Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records in the database.
- Follow confidentiality protocols to protect sensitive customer data.
