Position Summary:
Our insurance agency assists small, local employers select and administer insurance benefits offered to their employees. The Employee Benefit Administrative Assistant plays a key role in supporting the administration of the products and service we provide to local employers. This position is responsible for assisting employees with benefits inquiries, processing enrollment and change requests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and highly organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the administration of group medical, dental, vision, and other health-related benefits programs.
- Support employee enrollment, changes, and terminations in benefit plans.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, claims, and coverage details in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in benefits management systems.
- Liaise with insurance carriers and third-party administrators to resolve issues and ensure proper plan administration.
- Schedule and assist with benefits orientations and annual open enrollment processes.
- Prepare and distribute benefits-related communications and materials.
- Monitor benefit eligibility and assist with audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Support COBRA, FMLA, and other leave-related benefit processes.
- Assist with invoicing and reconciliation of benefits billing.
- Stay informed on relevant benefits laws, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required.
- Basic Knowledge or experience dealing with employee benefits, HR, or administrative support.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude.
Work Environment:
- Office setting
- Occasional travel may be required for benefits fairs or training sessions.
