Job Summary:
The Asphalt Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality of asphalt produced by the company. This includes conducting tests, designing mix formulations, troubleshooting issues, and offering recommendations for adjustments to mix specifications.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect and test asphalt samples in accordance with the ODOT testing schedule.
Ensure that all products meet quality standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of job-related documentation.
Notify QC Management or other relevant personnel promptly when quality issues arise.
Submit necessary documentation to state agencies for designated projects.
Maintain professional communication with state agencies on a daily basis.
Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
Other Required Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform additional tasks or special assignments as directed by management.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing and descending ladders in various weather conditions.
The position will require work outside of normal business hours.
Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
Ability to operate a vehicle and travel to various job sites as required.
Skills/Abilities:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Proficient knowledge of ODOT Aggregate Levels 1, 2, and 3 is highly preferred.
Strong ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Solid mathematical skills, including proficiency with weights and measurements, are essential.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior quality control experience in a construction or manufacturing environment highly desirable.
