Job Summary:
The Haul Truck Operator is accountable for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Haul Truck. This role also includes performing general maintenance and repairs on both the plant and the truck.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely operating a 30-ton Haul Truck to transport stone to the production plant.
Conducting routine maintenance on the plant, including greasing, cleaning, and completing inspection reports.
Operating various types of equipment across the property as needed.
Adhering to safety protocols, including MSHA regulations, to maintain a safe working environment.
In-person attendance is required.
Other Required Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Collaborate with team members to handle general plant maintenance, repairs, and other tasks as needed.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing and descending ladders.
The position will require work outside of normal business hours in various weather conditions.
Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
Skills/Abilities:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Must maintain professional relationships with managers and colleagues.
Represent The Gerken Companies to customers in a professional manner, supporting the company’s goals.
Strong mechanical skills are preferred.
Willingness to learn, with a positive attitude, dependability, and strong teamwork.
Ability to work safely and efficiently is essential.
Education and Experience:
Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required.
Minimum two years of work experience, with construction-related experience preferred.
