Job Summary
The Haul Truck/Utility Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the haul truck at the sand and gravel operation, ensuring the timely transport of materials to designated areas. This role also includes a variety of other duties, such as assisting with equipment maintenance, site clean-up, and supporting overall site operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a 30-ton haul truck to transport sand, gravel, and other materials throughout the site.
- Perform general maintenance on equipment (greasing, cleaning, filling out inspection reports, etc.).
- Operate various on-site equipment, such as skid steers, fuel trucks, and water trucks, as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and MSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Other Required Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to handle general plant maintenance, repairs, and other tasks as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing and descending ladders.
- The position will require work outside of normal business hours.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
Skills/Abilities:
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Must maintain professional relationships with managers and colleagues.
- Represent The Gerken Companies to customers in a professional manner, supporting the company’s goals.
- Strong mechanical skills are preferred.

Education and Experience:
- Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required.
- Minimum of two years of work experience, with construction-related experience preferred.
