What are the responsibilities and job description for the Redding Programmer / Nester 1 position at Gerlinger Steel?

The drafting office of Gerlinger Steel is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00pm and this position is scheduled for 40 hours. Your primary responsibilities cover programming and creating nesting programs for use with CNC machines. Basic drafting and CAD software experience preferred. Much of your work will be performed inside of Draftsight, Pronest, and Bysoft. Knowledge of the first two will be expected, the third can be trained.
- Attendance, Shift Punctuality
- Experienced in Draftsight/AutoCAD
- Able to navigate Solidworks
- Able to read shop drawings
- Conversant in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Communicates clearly and professionally via all mediums (i.e. phone, email, messaging)
- Math skills such as basic arithmetic and geometry
- Fluent in written and spoken English, bilingual preferred
