What are the responsibilities and job description for the Redding Shop Help position at Gerlinger Steel?

Our Pre-Fabrication shop is in operation Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm and the typical week is scheduled for 40 hours. The primary responsibilities of this job include maintaining a clean working environment and assisting operators as needed.
- Attendance, Shift Punctuality
- Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) by hand or using a calculator
- Ability to use tape measure accurately
- Proper machine set up and appropriate cutting operation based on material type and thickness
- Ability to operate forklifts and overhead lifting equipment
- Precise and accurate production: reviews shop drawings / instructions, measures accurately and precisely, and verifies material before operation
- Safety conscious attitude concerning all aspects of work: yourself, your equipment, and your surroundings
- Fluent in written and spoken English, bilingual preferred
