I. Job Purpose/Objective:
A Live Musician is responsible to perpetuate the art and culture of Polynesia by specializing in variety of instruments and providing entertainment and support for Luau Show Operations. Musician will be performing numbers for the Pre-Show, Main Show, and the Post-Show events. Musicians also have duties and procedures related to any services provided to our guests to experience an enjoyable event. Included are responsibilities in sharing, teaching, and showing the “Aloha” spirit, whether it is through a genuine smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values, this position must provide the highest level of service to our guests.
II. Essential Job Functions:
Incumbent may perform any or all of the following:
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Prepare for and attend auditions and casting sessions
- Get ready for performances by rehearsing and exercising
- Attend all meetings requested and required.
- Attend all rehearsals and clean-ups requested and required to include but not limit to:
- Warm-up exercises
- Basic steps (i.e. Hawaiian, Tahitian, etc.)
- Regular choreographed routines and new routines etc.
- Execution of performance (Vocals, Guitar, Drummer or Ukulele).
- Ability to adapt and adjust to different situations on stage.
- Stage Presence: Must be able to perform, share your talent and passion with our guest in a way that reflects your enjoyment on stage. HAVE FUN!
- Must be able to adjust position changes nightly.
- Care for costumes and equipment
- The Company will provide and issue uniform shirts/dresses, as needed, based on the amount of night’s a musician is normally scheduled night.
- All employees are required to be in proper uniform (e.g. with no holes, not faded or ripped attire, clean and not wrinkled or stained, etc allowed) on the day he/she is scheduled to work.
- Uniform Attire List:
- Company issued Aloha Shirt/Dress - Shirts worn with long black dress pants.
- Appearance / “Image”: Well groomed – hair combed/brushed, clean shaven / no facial hair (trimmed mustache, where allowed) long hair must not be “distracting” – may need to be tied back neatly into a ponytail.
- FOOTWEAR: Dress shoes or sandals are required.
- Uniforms shall be worn properly at all times during the luau event or any special event on site.
- Complete assigned cleaning areas thoroughly.
- Always maintain positive guest relations.
- Deal with all guests and fellow Germaine’s team members with respect and honesty.
- Communicates with supervisor verbally and through written communication throughout the shift to ensure proper notification and follow through of assigned tasks.
- May be assigned other duties as needed by the Show Operations Director.
III. Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) – i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.
- Lead Guitar - Responsible for all music arrangements – Leads, intros and a set vocal arrangement part.
- Rhythm Guitar - Responsible for all music arrangements – Keeping a strong chord rhythm and a set vocal arrangement part.
- Bass Guitar - Responsible for all music arrangements – Working with the drummer, laying down the right bass patterns and focusing on the 1 and 3, and a set vocal arrangement part.
- Drummer - Responsible for all set arrangements – Working with the bass and providing multiple drum beats and intros in a dynamic form, focusing on the 2 and 4.
- Fluency in English both verbal and written.
- Ability to:

III. Working Conditions/Job Environment
