GISB seeks a part-time English teacher for the second grade beginning in April 2025. The English teacher will instruct students in the fundamentals of the English language, including reading, comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening skills across a range of language and proficiency levels. This is a part-time position with 12 weekly teaching and 5 planning hours (17 hours total).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Instruct students in the elementary school (including ELL students)
- Plan and execute daily instructional strategies and lessons targeted for individual learners
- Create and maintain a safe and collaborative learning environment for students
- Maintain accurate and transparent records of student’s work and provide feedback to parents/caregivers
- Attend bi-weekly assemblies, monthly staff meetings and other meetings, as needed
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned, as needed
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A. in education, humanities, English, or related field, M.A. preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience teaching K-6 English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, native fluency preferred.
- Experience working with ELL students and students with reading disabilities preferred.
- German language skills are helpful though not required.
