Director of Marketing & Communications

GIS seeks a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy that enhances the school’s reputation, increases enrollment, and strengthens community engagement. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller, brand strategist, and data-driven marketer who can effectively communicate the school’s mission, values, and programs to internal and external audiences.  This is a 0.8 FTE position with a salary range of $65,000-$70,000.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Marketing and Branding- Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to drive enrollment and retention.
• Communications & Public Relations: Develop and execute a comprehensive communications plan, ensuring clear, consistent messaging across all channels.
• Digital & Social Media Management:Track digital marketing performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
• Event Promotion & Community Engagement: Develop marketing strategies to support school events, open houses, and fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in marketing, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Strong knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, social media management, and website maintenance.
• Experience using marketing analytics to measure and improve effectiveness.
• Proficiency with design and content creation tools 
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, staff, parents, and external partners.
• Passion for education and an understanding of independent school culture.
