Germanna Community College, a learning centered college and one of the fastest growing community colleges in Virginia, is seeking an administrative assistant to provide full-time administrative support to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development at the Stafford County Center. The successful candidate will possess executive office experience, preferably in an academic setting. Must possess sound judgment, tact, and self-control along with considerable skill in understanding and applying policies and procedures, preparing electronic and print reports, editing/proofreading formal correspondence. Duties include but are not limited to receptionist duties; office management; preparing meeting minutes and editing outgoing correspondence; preparing travel arrangements and purchase orders; planning and coordinating events, maintaining the budget and meticulous filing.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to learn new systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
- Flexibility to work at different locations as needed
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities at once
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure, at times with short deadlines
