Germanna Community College is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Admissions Coach to guide students through the admissions process, with special emphasis on Health Technology programs and other selective admissions pathways. This role also includes general advising for students in all academic programs. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality, student-centered service, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience through a holistic, case management approach. Collaboration with academic departments and student services is essential to supporting prospective, new, and continuing students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to students applying to special admissions programs, including Health Technology, on processes, credentialing, and prerequisites.
- Assist students with understanding program pathways, registration, and prerequisite requirements.
- Monitor and support prospective students through the admissions and enrollment process, addressing inquiries and providing comprehensive information about programs and processes.
- Use a case management approach to support students from an initial inquiry through program enrollment, ensuring proactive follow-up and seamless support.
- Collaborate with Health Technologies personnel, academic advisors, and other subject matter experts to provide accurate advising and solutions to student questions or barriers.
- Maintain accurate student records, admissions documents, and case management files for reporting and analysis.
- Participate in professional development, including training on Germanna’s Culture of Care and tools for admissions and advising support.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments to streamline the admissions process for special admissions programs.
- Actively participate in recruitment and onboarding events, both virtual and in-person, to engage and support prospective students.

- Experience in enrollment services, admissions, or academic advising within a higher education setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, particularly in working with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Knowledge of academic program admissions processes, policies, and guidelines.
- Demonstrated customer service experience with the ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred).
- Experience with case management approaches and student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Salesforce).
- Familiarity with selective admissions processes and financial aid systems, including FAFSA.
- Knowledge of Germanna Community College’s academic and workforce programs.
