Germanna is currently searching for a School Certifying Official to serve as the Veterans Affairs and Virginia Educational Representative for students and the college community.
- Certifies students for VA Benefits
- Reviews and submits student enrollment via VA-ONCE
- Educates students on Veterans benefits an VA services provided by the College and advises students on the various GI Bill education funding programs
- Supervises and trains a second certification staff member
- Hires VA work-study students
- Submits catalog for approval of programs and policies, annually, to the Department of Veterans Affairs

- Training in Veterans Affairs principles, practices and procedures either through college coursework, seminars or on-the-job training
- An equivalent combination of training and experience indicating possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities substitute for this training and experience
- Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of Veterans Affairs benefits, certifying and policies and procedures
