What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthodontic Assistant position at Germantown Orthodontics?
Busy orthodontic practice is seeking organized, friendly, self-motivated individual for our part-time Orthodontic Assistant position. Position will be about 25-30 hours/week.
Job duties for the successful candidate will include:
- Greet and seat patients
- Set up instruments
- Properly disinfect chair
- Sterilize instruments
- Untie and retie patients
- Insert appliances
- Review post-op instructions as specified by orthodontist
- Relay treatment information to parent/family member
- Take 3D scans with Itero
- Fit and cement bands
- Take x-rays (pan, ceph)
- Take diagnostic photographs
- Input x-rays and photographs into patient chart
- Maintain chairs by properly flushing the lines and air syringe units
- Clean clinic area nightly (trash, mop floors, disinfect and sterilize all instruments, disinfect chairs and any non-critical items in clinic area)
- We are seeking someone who works well in a fast-paced environment. Looking for excellent communication skills and someone who is detail oriented and self-motivated. ORTHODONTIC ASSISTING EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED. Will train the right candidate with long term orientation. Compensation based on experience. Education required: High school or equivalent.
