What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at GERONIMO TRAIL GUEST RANCH?
Role Description
This is a seasonal on-site role from March through June 2025 for the Chef at GERONIMO TRAIL GUEST RANCH located in the Gila National Forest of New Mexico, two hours from town. The Chef will be solely responsible for planning and executing daily menus, grocery shopping, preparing 3 full meals a day for up to 10 people, dishes and cleaning, and maintaining food quality and safety standards. There will be a break of a few days in between each group of guests.
Qualifications
- Culinary Arts, Food Preparation, and Menu Planning skills
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Experience in managing a budget and inventory
- Ability to cook for mulitiple diets or allergies included but not limited to celiac/gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, nut free, etc.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience working on a ranch or in a remote (far from town) location is a plus.
- Certification from a culinary school or relevant experience.
