What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Process Engineer IM position at Gerresheimer?
Requirements: Education, Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required (Plastic Processing degree is preferred).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry, with at least 5 years of high-volume injection molding and assembly process engineering experience.
- RJG Master Molder 2 required. Trainer certification preferred. The Working knowledge of hydraulic and electric molding machines required.
- Thorough knowledge of SIM and in-mold pressure transducers and their application required.
- Basic knowledge and skill in using Statistical Process Control and knowledge and skill in utilizing blueprints and specifications is required.
- Must have knowledge of injection molding manufacturing, as well as the ability to deal with ambiguity, drive for results, detail orientation, change implementation skills, excellent written, listening, and oral communication skills.
- Able to work unsupervised.
- Assess process capabilities, innovates and implements process improvements on key projects with divisional impact.
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
- Develop and maintains qualified injection molding production lines.
- Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation.
- Serve as a core team member on new product projects and transfer projects.
- Actively participates in concept review and development on new injection-molded products and tooling. Provide input and alternatives during part design reviews in order to improve manufacturability of the final design.
- Ensures that molding concerns are reviewed and resolution provided during mold design reviews.
- Provides frequent and appropriate communications with all internal and external customers.
- Stay current on core competencies and best practices in injection molding to ensure incorporation into new processes.
- Ensures validation documentation and manufacturing processes meet all Gerresheimer Quality system requirements.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Identify initiatives to reduce or contain cost, improve material flow, evaluate capacity and manage continuous improvement. Other duties as assigned by manager.
- Occasional travel to offshore locations may be required up to 25%.
