Gerstell Academy is an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian college preparatory school for students entering Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. As the first leadership school established in Maryland, Gerstell Academy is devoted to the development of leadership skills with an emphasis on physical fitness and to the mastery of fundamental knowledge in a traditional college preparatory curriculum. Gerstell’s leadership-based program develops moral values, social skills, manners, and critical thinking in tomorrow's citizens, while promoting rigorous academics. The four pillars of a Gerstell education include: Leadership, College Preparatory Academics, Physical Training, and Modern Language Proficiency.
Gerstell Academy is searching for a 4th Grade Instructor. The ideal candidate will be expected to know, understand, model and incorporate our Leadership Model into their teaching in all subject areas. 4th Grade Instructors are responsible for planning and instructing students in the areas of Leadership, Humanities - Language Arts/Social Studies, and Mathematics. In addition, they serve as care managers for their homeroom students, coordinating with parents, administration, off-campus professionals, and on-campus colleagues, as well as being an advocate for each of their students.
Lower School Faculty Members Shall:
- Demonstrate effective instructional practices and command of subject matter.

- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in working with students, families, colleagues and community members.
