What are the responsibilities and job description for the Greenhouse Production Distribution Center Associate (Seasonal) position at Gerten Greenhouses and Garden Center, Inc?
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Distribution Center Associate to join our Greenhouse Production team for the upcoming season. This position plays a key role in the greenhouse production distribution center, responsible for loading/unloading inventory and moving products between the distribution center and retail locations.
Hours: 40 hours per week (evenings and weekends required)
Duration: Seasonal position, ending mid-June
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload products within the distribution center and properly store them in designated locations.
- Perform order reconciliation using scanning tools.
- Move products between the greenhouse production area, distribution center, and retail stores.
- Provide occasional plant care, including watering.
- Maintain and clean the work environment, including carts and work areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure safe transport of products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the company’s products is a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret internal operations paperwork.
- Compliance with safety procedures in the distribution center.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires frequent movement, standing, talking, hearing, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs regularly.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

- Candidates must be 18 years or older.
- Candidates must be willing to complete a pre-employment physical and drug test.
