What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Aggregate Tech position at GES?
OVERVIEW:
This individual will operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations in Western North Dakota, to perform in-field, machinery diagnostics and repairs as required. This individual must be able to perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible on aggregate equipment, work overtime, possibility of overnight stays and weekends on occasion. This individual will report to our Bismarck Branch, but can be based out of their residence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Builds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures
- Can perform field repairs and maintenance jobs with minimal supervision
- Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
- Can repair and recondition all aggregate equipment components and systems
- Develops and employs diagnostic related reasoning skills
- Responsible for operating heavy construction equipment in a safe manner
- Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory control
- Attends local, regional, national service schools as requested
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment
- Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Completes all paperwork required for jobs
- Maintains close, positive working relationships with service, parts and administrative personnel
- Proficiently uses and understands Pedigree electronic logbook system
- Maintains DOT compliance
- May perform other duties as directed by the Service Management
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Has successfully completed the Aggregate Apprentice Program or has a minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience
- Must have CDL
- Minimum welding/fabrication experience helpful
- Must have own hand tools, up to and including a ¾ drive set

- Excellent customer service skills both internal and external as a representative of General Equipment
- Must have a positive mental attitude
- Organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
