What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Service Technician position at GES?
Wage Range: $27.00/hr to $45.00/hr DOE
Overview:
This individual will operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations to perform in-field, machinery diagnostics and repairs as required. This individual must be able to perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible, work overtime, possibility of overnight stays and weekends on occasion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform field repairs and maintenance jobs with little or no direct supervision
- Responsible for servicing units to fulfill OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications
- Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
- Recondition and repair equipment and components in a complete, safe, and effective manner by planning methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned
- Perform diagnostic inspections as directed, including repair determination inspections following established guidelines, identify the cause of failure, and identify solutions necessary to affect a repair
- Responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe manner
- Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases in repairs
- Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory control
- Attends training at local, regional, national service schools as requested
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment
- Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Completes all paperwork required for jobs
- May perform other duties as assigned by Service Management
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Requires either a minimum two-year degree in Diesel Technology or Automotive Technology, or equivalent experience
- Must own or have the ability to acquire required tools
- Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record
- Currently has Class A CDL License or is willing to obtain

- Must have excellent customer service skills, both internal and external customers

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
