GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION   

This role involves collecting, auditing, and managing documentation for programs like the Going Pro Talent Fund (GPTF) and other Michigan Works initiatives. Responsibilities include data entry, reporting, and maintaining accurate records using systems like OSMIS and Salesforce, as well as tracking and reporting on customer and employer activities to ensure compliance with funding requirements. The position also includes marketing, eligibility determination, and maintaining communication with partner employers to support program delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years post high school technical training or college coursework required.  Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Business Administration or related field strongly preferred. 

Other:

Certified Career Development Facilitator and/or BSP Certified preferred. Ability to respond effectively to multiple requests and changing project flow. Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with participants, employers, public and staff. Composition and computer skills sufficient to complete reports, letters and data input tasks.  Basic accounting or bookkeeping experience.  Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency using MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, databases both pc and web based.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and audit documents submitted by businesses for Going Pro Talent Fund (GPTF) awards, Incumbent Worker Training, and other Michigan Works programs.
  • Complete required supportive service request paperwork for eligible customers.
  • Complete data entry, reporting, and documentation requirements in a timely and accurate manner.  Data tracking systems may include One-Stop Management Information System (OSMIS), Salesforce, and other web-based systems.
  • Maintain and provide reports tracking customer /employer information, attendance and activity to ensure necessary services are received in accordance with funding source requirements.

  • Contact partner employers to market, follow-up, and update program eligibility and status as needed.
  • Determine employer and customer eligibility for employer related services and programs, including completing eligibility forms and collecting required documents from employees and employers. Attend area networking and business events to market Michigan Works employer services.
  • Build strategic connections with employers and area businesses and agencies to encourage their use of employment related services including Going Pro Talent Fund and other employer related grants and services.
  • Partner with business services team including attending meetings, communicating program highlights and provide support as requested. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work involves the ability to work flexible hours and to travel to local community sites. 
  • Work involves sitting for a minimum of 60% of work time
  • Ability to stoop and bend to file records
  • Ability to type and read computer screen 

Environmental Conditions: 

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period. 

NON-EXEMPT

This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act
