JOB SUMMARY
Supports Maintenance, Operations, and Quality as die setter for presses and part production.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Health & Safety of self and Subordinates including outside contractors and/or support personnel.
2. Perform daily checklist on cranes and operate and pre-inspect straps and slings before use.
3. Daily clean dies, bolster plates, etc.
4. Align pins in bolster and ensure bolts are tight and fastened.
5. Keep die storage area organized and clean when pulling or placing dies in storage area.
6. Prepare dies for production by setting, bolting, centering and securely fasten dies to bolster.
7. Tag dies for repair and move to die repair area.
8. Do safety check on all equipment and light curtains when performing duties.
9. Technical support, troubleshooting, and implementation of corrective actions.
10. Improve overall safety and efficiency related issues by taking a pro-active lead in the Continuous Improvement
Activities.
11. As part of the press team, the die setter is expected to take an active role in housekeeping of the work area.
12. Any other duties as deemed necessary or appropriate
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma/GED required with technical schooling preferred.
2. At least 1 year job related experience preferred
3. Can demonstrate work experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment preferred.
4. Forklift and Crane Certified preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Ability to work under pressure to tight timelines.
2. Excellent verbal and written skills.
3. Clear understanding of Lean Principals & Tools
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
1. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
6. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
7. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
8. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
