What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Driver - 2nd & 3rd Shift position at Gestamp?
JOB SUMMARY
Supply press and/or assembly lines with little to no downtime while following proper procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Proper storage of empty racks and finished goods;
2. Bring parts to the line in a timely manner;
3. Ensure FIFO is followed;
4. Locating part numbers and locations of storage;
5. Basic inspection of forklift per inspection sheet:
6. Good communication to shift leaders about inventory;
7. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum 1 year of material handling experience in a manufacturing environment;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Forklift certified;
2. Knowledge of basic mechanical checks for forklift;
3. Knowledge of re-fueling LPG cylinders;
4. Familiar with part numbers;
5. Utilizing time efficiently and paying close attention to production demands.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
1. Forklift Operators must undergo a pre-employment medical screening and re-take the medical screening every two years thereafter.
2. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
3. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
4. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
5. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
6. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
7. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
8. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
9. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $21.50 per hour
