JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for all parts material handling and shipping operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements;
2. Performs daily and other required checks on fork trucks, cranes and documents results and follows through with maintenance reporting.
3. Is concerned primarily with the safe operations of the industrial truck and ensures that pedestrians have the right of way.
4. Direct movement of material to staging area for daily shipments. Loading and unloading trucks in a safe and timely manner.
5. Inspection of trailers for any holes or damage before entering trucks.
6. Movement of empty racks to storage area and cleaning of all shipping labels off racks before moving.
7. Performs other duties and assignments as deemed necessary or appropriate.
8. Daily 5S safety and work area organization
9. Support team functions by:
a. Kaizen submittal and implementation
b. Cross-training with others
c. Backfills other materials positions as needed
d. Problem solving
e. Supports materials metrics and meets materials needs
10. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- A minimum of (1) year of experience in a production facility working at times in a high pace environment.
- Understanding of computer application relating to inventory control: SAP preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Follow standardized work instructions
2. Follow safety procedures
3. Forklift operation experience
4. Overhead crane operation experience (preferred)
