Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities:
- Assessing and evaluating patients' wounds to determine the appropriate treatment plan
- Cleaning, debriding, and dressing wounds using aseptic techniques
- Monitoring and documenting wound healing progress
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop comprehensive care plans
- Educating patients and their families on wound care techniques and prevention strategies
- Administering medications as prescribed for pain management or infection control
- Performing phlebotomy as needed for laboratory testing
- Providing esthetic laser treatment for wound healing enhancement
- Assisting with acute pain management techniques
- Familiarity with workers' compensation laws related to wound care cases
- Knowledge of dermal fillers for wound closure and cosmetic purposes
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in wound care settings
- Understanding of occupational health practices related to wound prevention in the workplace
- Proficiency in ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Basic life support (BLS) certification to respond to medical emergencies
- Utilization review skills to ensure appropriate utilization of resources
Skills:
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Strong knowledge of wound care principles, techniques, and evidence-based practices
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
