Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that all materials are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management in flooring/construction, contract negotiation. The Procurement Specialist will collaborate with various departments to meet organizational needs while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Duties
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize sourcing and purchasing processes.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Manage the procurement lifecycle from requisition through delivery, ensuring timely fulfillment of orders.
- Collaborate with supply chain management teams to align procurement activities with production schedules.
- Utilize SAP and MRP systems for tracking inventory levels, order processing, and supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with quality management standards and federal regulations throughout the procurement process.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality or delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement management or a related field is required.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies and supply chain management principles.
- Familiarity with contract negotiation techniques and quality management practices.
- Experience using SAP or similar procurement systems is preferred.
- Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess supplier performance metrics effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate collaboration across departments.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
