Adjunct Faculty Remote - Chemistry | WFH

Job Overview

We are seeking qualified candidates to join our esteemed Chemistry Department as part-time adjunct faculty members for the upcoming Spring 2025, Summer 2025, and Fall 2025 semesters. This is an exceptional opportunity for dedicated educators eager to impart knowledge in our undergraduate and graduate programs, both in-person on our dynamic campus in West Hartford, CT, and fully online.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct students across 2-6 credits, employing engaging lectures and interactive learning strategies.
• Develop course materials including lectures, projects, assignments, and assessments that align with the course syllabus.
• Provide timely grading of student submissions and constructive feedback to promote academic achievement.
• Maintain scheduled office hours; adjunct faculty are required to be available for at least one additional hour weekly, either in-person or virtually, to assist students.
• Attend program and departmental meetings as required.
• Exhibit effective teaching practices within college-level courses, delivering clear and comprehensive instruction.
• Utilize technology to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
• Attend all assigned class periods in accordance with the academic calendar.
• Submit mid-semester and final grades punctually to the Registrar's Office and ensure all course records are transferred to the department chair post-course completion.
• Create a nurturing environment that supports student success.
  
  

Qualifications

• A Master's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related field from a regionally accredited institution is required for teaching undergraduate courses.
• Previous teaching experience is highly preferred.
• A demonstrated commitment to cultural competency in collaborating with diverse student and employee populations.
• Alignment with the institution’s mission is essential.

Compensation

• Non-Terminal Degree & 0-6 credits experience: $3,000
• Terminal Degree & 0-6 credits experience: $3,200
