Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in advancing the Data Science field, providing support to both students and faculty. The responsibilities include:

• Teaching a load of 3-6 credits per semester, with a maximum of 9 credits annually
• Conducting collaborative research within a wider research network
• Leading professional development workshops focusing on Data Science methodologies
• Advising students majoring in Data Science
• Supervising capstone projects
• Designing and enhancing courses and curriculum for the Data Science program

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

• Proven research expertise in areas such as:
• Machine/deep learning
• Big data mining and analytics
• Topological data analysis
• Data-driven modeling and prediction
• Rich media data processing
• Database systems for analytics

• Capability to teach using programming languages like Python and R
  

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline (to be awarded by the start date)
• Prior teaching experience at the college level in mathematics, statistics, or Data Science is preferred
