This role presents an opportunity to significantly influence the success of the Head Start program by facilitating training and technical assistance that enhances early childhood education and improves outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the establishment of a comprehensive quality assurance framework for the technical assistance provided to grantees and oversee contract deliverables concerning Early Childhood Specialists.
- Provide continuous coaching and supervision to Early Childhood Specialists, ensuring robust support for grantees in crucial areas such as curriculum execution, teacher-child interactions, family involvement, and child development outcomes.
- Design and implement professional development initiatives to enhance the capabilities of Early Childhood Specialists in essential performance areas, including coaching, assessment, and data interpretation.
- Manage the aggregation, analysis, and reporting of TTA data to perpetually enhance service quality, align with both regional and national objectives, and support initiatives at the state level.
- Conduct site visits to observe Early Childhood Specialists in action, assessing service quality and pinpointing professional development requirements.
- Collaborate with Regional Office personnel to ensure harmonized and effective technical assistance to grantees.
- Engage in national and regional workgroups and meetings to bolster the objectives of the Office of Head Start.
- Offer direct technical assistance to grantees as required by the Regional Office.
- Assist in the rollout of new initiatives and priorities from the Office of Head Start.
- Undertake additional duties as necessary to support the organization’s mission.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adept at engaging a diverse audience.
- Demonstrated expertise in coaching and mentoring staff, with a focus on developing effective quality assurance systems.
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
- A Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in early childhood education, development, education leadership, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years dedicated to providing technical assistance to Head Start or early childhood education programs, especially regarding school readiness.
- A proven track record of 3 to 5 years in progressive supervisory or management roles, with a preference for experience in managing remote teams.
