Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with program managers to uphold a superior educational program that complies with all relevant state, local, and contractual educational standards.
- Conduct educational evaluations for each student, adhering to state and local guidelines.
- Create tailored educational objectives for students based on their unique needs and developmental progress.
- Continuously assess and monitor students’ educational advancement throughout their enrollment period.
- Ensure thorough implementation of curriculum areas, facilitating students’ academic development.
- Guarantee that students in need of special education services receive appropriate support and that all provided services are accurately documented.
- Review and appraise lesson plans from instructional staff to ensure compliance with local School District standards.
- Assist fellow educators with curriculum development, lesson planning, and effective teaching techniques.
- Lead and instruct classes, cultivating a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere.
- Manage academic documentation for middle and high school courses, ensuring precise recording of each student’s progress.
- Provide safety, supervision, and support during class, offering guidance and counseling to students as necessary while acting as a positive role model.
- Supervise the academic team, providing direction and support as needed.
- Generate required reports in accordance with program standards and timelines.
- Conduct home visits as dictated by program standards or state contracts.
- Participate in required training and professional development activities while maintaining necessary certifications and licenses.
- Oversee recreational activities and sports, ensuring safety and organization.
- Maintain certifications in crisis intervention, physical restraint, CPR, and First Aid as mandated by state and contractual requirements.
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by the program.
- Strong teaching capabilities in core subject areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in developing personalized educational objectives.
- Experience conducting educational assessments.
- Familiarity with special education services and documentation practices.
- Strong organizational and administrative competencies.
- Ability to foster a constructive learning environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- State Teacher Certification in core subject areas.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with youth in an educational or supportive capacity.
