We invite dynamic and committed professionals to apply for the position of temporary adjunct faculty within the Office of Clinical Practice in our esteemed Education Department. This role provides a unique chance to significantly impact the growth of teacher candidates and in-service educators by offering mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the student teaching supervisory course, convening once a week in the evening.
- Develop and/or revise the course syllabus to align with departmental objectives.
- Prepare lectures, assignments, projects, and assessments to facilitate student learning.
- Evaluate student submissions and deliver timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain office hours (minimum of one hour per week) to offer student support, either in-person or virtually.
- Participate in departmental meetings as required.
- Stay abreast of teaching methods and best practices in higher education.
- Employ technology such as Blackboard and TEAMS to enhance the educational experience.
- Complete necessary CPAST assessment system training (materials will be provided).
- Submit mid-semester and final grades within established deadlines.
- Cultivate a positive rapport with students and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning atmosphere.
- Previous teaching experience in the field of Education.
- Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating engagement with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to cultural competence and experience working with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with virtual teaching environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the EdTPA assessment system is preferable.
- A Master's degree in Education is required (Terminal degree preferred).
- Active Connecticut teaching certificate(s) is mandatory.
- A strong dedication to cultural competency and experience working with diverse students and K-12 educational settings.

- Non-Terminal Degree/0-6 Credits Experience: $3,000.00
- Terminal Degree/0-6 Credits Experience: $3,200.00
- Non-Terminal Degree/7 Credits Experience: $3,400.00
- Terminal Degree/7 Credits Experience: $3,700.00
