Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate online coursework at the advanced undergraduate or graduate level for a grant-funded certificate program in the extractive engineering disciplines.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other team members to craft and convert technical content for the certificate program.
- Work in close partnership with instructional designers to integrate established best practices for online, asynchronous course delivery, ensuring meaningful interactions that enhance the learning experience.
- Conduct initial quality reviews of curriculum to confirm alignment with university standards and federal requirements for online delivery.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly in technical fields.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and instructional designers.
- Knowledge of best practices for online, asynchronous educational delivery.
- Attention to detail for quality review of curriculum materials.
- A Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., mining, geological, metallurgical, materials, environmental, or a related field).
- Preferred: A Ph.D. in a STEM discipline.
- Prior experience as a lecturer, instructor, or graduate teaching assistant in higher education or as a presenter in professional development workshops or programs is beneficial.
- Experience teaching STEM courses in a university environment or providing training in an industrial context is advantageous.
- Experience in delivering online courses in STEM subjects and understanding online educational best practices is preferred.
- Experience engaging with adult, professional, or non-traditional learners is a plus.
