Job Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated and passionate Floater Teacher specializing in Infant and Toddler education to become an integral part of our esteemed team. In this enriching role, you will provide vital support to lead educators, ensuring the holistic development—social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and linguistic—of our youngest learners. Your contributions will help foster a nurturing and organized learning environment, enabling responsive caregiving that allows every child to flourish. Additionally, you will cultivate strong relationships with families, recognizing the essential role parent-child interactions play in children’s development and readiness for school.

The Floater Teacher will be adaptable, moving between various classrooms based on the center’s needs, ensuring that a high-quality educational experience is consistently upheld.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in promoting the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth of infants and toddlers.
  • Create a nurturing, organized, and engaging learning environment for young children.
  • Support effective classroom management strategies suitable for various age groups.
  • Provide teachers with breaks as scheduled by administration.
  • Observe and report any signs of illness, discomfort, or unusual behavior in children to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in implementing curriculum and enriching learning experiences.
  • Ensure a language-rich environment that promotes social and emotional development.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environment through daily safety checks and adherence to health policies.
  • Foster positive relationships with families, encouraging their involvement in their children’s education.
  • Participate in meal services and fulfill additional classroom needs as requested.

Required Skills

  • Compassionate and self-motivated, demonstrating enthusiasm for supporting child development.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, enhancing communication with diverse families.
  • Basic computer proficiency to assist in documentation and communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff and families.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to dynamic classroom environments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Willingness to enroll in and complete a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) program.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle or state ID for transportation.
  • Preferred: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in Infant and Toddler; Associate degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field; minimum of two years of recent experience in childcare or preschool settings.
