Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Virtual ELL Coordinator to join our innovative team in a full-time, 11-month remote position. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about advancing the academic achievements of English Language Learners (ELL). As the ELL Coordinator, you will be instrumental in influencing the educational journey of ELL students by providing essential guidance and support to ELL teachers, ensuring that our students have the resources they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ELL teachers, offering mentorship and assistance in developing ELL schedules while addressing team challenges.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to continually assess and enhance ELL processes, contributing valuable insights to improve teaching methodologies, resources, and overall student support.
  • Partner with the Testing Coordinator to ensure that ELL students participate in language proficiency screenings and testing in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure that the ELL program adheres to all state requirements for identification, testing, and instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records for all ELL program participants, including tracking and communicating relevant data for state reporting.
  • Provide targeted professional development opportunities aimed at improving instructional strategies and engagement for ELL staff.
  • Address escalations from parents and staff through various communication channels, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Support in-person state testing events as required.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to support the department and school.

  • Proven success in building constructive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is essential.
  • An advanced degree in Education or Educational Leadership is preferred.
  • An ENL certification or endorsement is required, along with a valid Indiana teaching license. Willingness to obtain ENL certification is necessary if not already certified.
  • A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience is required, with supervisory experience being a plus. Experience in coaching teachers for improved instructional planning is also desirable.
