Compensation And Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from \(31.06 to \)33.76 per hour, commensurate with education, skills, and experience. Note that this role does not include a benefits package; employees designated at .75 FTE or greater qualify for benefits from the Colorado Community College System. Sick leave will accrue in accordance with the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act. Relocation assistance is not available.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute dynamic lesson plans that cater to a variety of learning styles.
- Accurately maintain documentation of student performance and attendance records.
- Address student inquiries promptly through email and phone, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance.
- Evaluate assignments and deliver constructive feedback to foster student learning.
- Develop thorough course outlines and syllabi that meet educational standards.
- Partner with the Student Retention & Basic Skills Specialist to link students with post-GED opportunities that align with their interests.
- Facilitate classes primarily during mornings and afternoons, with potential evening and weekend sessions as needed to meet community demands.
- An associate’s degree in adult education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in technology, including the MS Office suite, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems.
- Excellent communication abilities and a capacity to engage effectively with culturally diverse and at-risk populations.
- Willingness to undergo cross-training for additional teaching roles within the GED/ESL program.
- A minimum of two years of experience teaching high school equivalency preparation (such as GED) or in a comparable educational setting.
- Preferred: A bachelor’s degree or higher in adult education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Somali.
- Preferred: Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), or a commitment to obtain it within three years of employment.
- Preferred: Significant experience teaching in various modalities (in-person, hybrid, and remote) to diverse student groups.
