Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with educators to design and implement innovative undergraduate research experiences, specifically in human microbiome metagenomics and transcriptomics.
- Assist academic and research partners in providing RNA-seq resources and related support.
- Develop a public AnVIL workspace tailored for introductory undergraduate biology courses.
- Work in conjunction with the AnVIL Outreach Group to enhance the accessibility of online educational content.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through comprehensive data analysis and feedback mechanisms.
- Strong expertise in genomic data science and data analysis methodologies.
- Proficiency in R programming.
- Exceptional communication, project management, and teamwork abilities.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with academic and research institutions.
- PhD or equivalent qualification in Biology or a related field.
- Experience in metagenomics data analysis, such as 16S rRNA or shotgun sequencing, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with educational technology and open educational resources is preferred.
- Understanding of effective assessment strategies in educational contexts.
- Experience mentoring diverse groups, particularly those new to technical content, is a plus.
