Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Virtual School Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students during the 2024-2025 academic year. This remote, 1099 contracted role is pivotal in ensuring that students with hearing impairments are afforded full access to their educational experiences. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and possess substantial experience within an educational context.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver live, real-time sign language interpretation during online classes, meetings, and school activities for students with hearing impairments.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and students to facilitate clear communication and address the unique needs of each student.
• Adapt interpreting methodologies to accommodate students with varying levels of hearing loss and diverse learning requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of services rendered, ensuring adherence to educational standards and regulations.

• Proficient command of American Sign Language (ASL) to clearly convey complex concepts.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, enabling effective collaboration in a virtual setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid ASL Educational Licensure for the state of Kentucky.
