Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary instructor for Spanish courses, leading students through an interactive and comprehensive curriculum.
- Organize and facilitate courses within the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring optimal accessibility of resources for students.
- Deliver engaging and effective live instructional sessions through web conferencing platforms, catering to diverse student needs and employing best practices in teaching.
- Develop and align course content with state and national educational standards, maintaining a high level of relevance and academic rigor.
- Differentiate instructional strategies to effectively meet the individual learning needs of each student.
- Create a supportive, safe, and respectful virtual classroom environment, promoting collaboration and positive reinforcement.
- Maintain accurate records, including student grades, attendance, and progress documentation.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Engage in school-related activities, including ongoing professional development and staff meetings, with occasional participation in in-person events.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to support the institution’s mission and objectives.
- Strong expertise in the Spanish language and its cultural contexts.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication abilities for effective interaction with students and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in analyzing student performance data to inform instructional adjustments.
- Comfort and proficiency with technology tools such as Google Docs, MS Office Suite, and Zoom for online instruction.
- Cultural competency and adaptability to address the unique needs of a diverse student body.
- Capacity to manage confidential student information with professionalism and discretion.
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related discipline.
- Valid Illinois teaching license (PEL) for Spanish and relevant grade bands.
- Current residency in Illinois is required.
- Previous experience in online teaching is highly desirable.
- Successful completion of both state and federal background checks is mandatory.
