Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary instructor for Spanish language courses, guiding students through engaging and interactive lessons aligned with Illinois State Standards.
- Efficiently configure courses within our Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate a smooth learning experience. Deliver live lessons utilizing web conferencing tools, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of students through research-based instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with the curriculum development team to create and align educational materials with relevant standards, ensuring accessibility and success for all learners.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive virtual classroom by maintaining effective communication, providing prompt feedback, and actively engaging with students to support their educational journey.
- Keep organized records, including grade books, attendance, progress reports, lesson plans, and documentation of student conduct, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, fellow educators, and school administration through effective communication strategies. Participation in virtual and in-person professional development, staff meetings, and community-building events is also expected.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance instructional practices and stay abreast of current educational trends.

- Proficient knowledge of Spanish language and culture is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective engagement with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Comfort with various digital tools, including Google Docs, MS Office Suite, and video conferencing platforms like Zoom.
- Capability to analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive disposition.
- A Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required.
- A current Illinois teaching license (PEL) in the relevant content areas and grade bands is mandatory.
- Experience teaching Spanish at the K-12 level is preferred, along with a passion for virtual instruction and adaptability to a digital learning environment.
- Ability to manage confidential student information with integrity and professionalism.
- Residency in Illinois is required, with a successful completion of both state and federal background checks for student safety.
