Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute educational activities that adhere to Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Vermont Early Learning Standards.
- Create an environment that encourages cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
- Maintain consistent communication with families through various channels to support children’s learning and overall well-being.
- Ensure compliance with all center policies and Vermont state regulations.
- Create and sustain a safe, healthy, and organized classroom that aligns with state guidelines and ITERS/ECERS standards.
- Keep precise records, observations, curriculum plans, and assessments within designated timelines.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with colleagues, children, and families.
- Solid understanding of child development and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must fulfill Vermont State Regulations for a Teacher Associate.
- Minimum age of 20 years.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
- Completion of Mandated Reporter Training.
- Background check and fingerprint clearance are mandatory.
- Completion of Vermont Orientation Training.
Candidates Must Meet One Of The Following
- Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate.
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services, along with at least 12 months of relevant experience with children aged three (3) or younger.
- Completion of the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program.
- Child Care Certificate from the Community College of Vermont, plus 12 months of experience working with children aged three (3) or younger.
- Completion of at least 21 college credits in early childhood or school-age education, along with 12 months of relevant experience.
