Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to address the unique strengths and challenges of each student.
- Design and deliver compelling virtual lessons that engage students across diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring accessibility to the curriculum.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate appropriate accommodations and modifications in both virtual and in-person contexts, promoting student success.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of student progress and assessments, adhering to state and federal documentation standards.
- Conduct virtual meetings with parents, colleagues, and key stakeholders to discuss student progress, provide feedback, and strategize for further enhancement.
- Deliver specialized instruction in both small group settings and one-on-one sessions, ensuring individualized support for each learner.
- Utilize various digital platforms to monitor and assess student progress, leveraging data to inform instructional practices and provide timely feedback.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and attend team meetings to refine teaching methodologies and stay updated on best practices in special education and virtual teaching.
- Proficiency in utilizing educational technology and virtual learning platforms to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective engagement with students, families, and colleagues.
- Experience in behavior management and positive intervention strategies to cultivate a safe and productive learning environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, especially in a remote work context.
- A Master's degree in Special Education or a relevant field.
- A valid Maryland teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
- At least 2 years of classroom teaching experience in Special Education, demonstrating a solid foundation in differentiated instruction and inclusive practices.
