We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized professional to fill the role of Staff Accountant and HR Assistant. This remote position is designed for candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Albuquerque, NM. Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting & Bookkeeping:
    • Oversee accounts receivable by managing incoming payments and resolving discrepancies.
    • Handle accounts payable through timely vendor payments and expense tracking.
    • Accurately prepare and dispatch invoices.
    • Aid in debt collection efforts by maintaining communication with overdue accounts.
    • Generate comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
    • Manage corporate credit card transactions and settlements.
    • Ensure compliance with gross receipts tax regulations.
    • Maintain oversight of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Create financial and administrative reports as required.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist with HR functions such as job posting and candidate screening.
    • Conduct preliminary interviews to evaluate candidate qualifications.
    • Keep organized electronic and physical records.
    • Perform general office duties as needed.
Required Skills

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks efficiently.
  • Experience with collections and knowledge of collection procedures.
  • Familiarity with HR functions is advantageous.
  • High level of accuracy with the capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Previous remote work experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in accounting and financial management is essential.
  • Candidates with prior experience in collections and understanding of collection procedures will be highly regarded.
