We are in search of an experienced and passionate leader to assume the role of Chief Development Officer (CDO). This pivotal position will steer the organization’s fundraising strategy, enhance donor relations, and ensure financial sustainability, directly contributing to our mission of fostering positive, enduring change in the lives of youth within the community. As CDO, you will work closely with the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors to drive the success of our programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and innovate the fundraising strategy to achieve both annual and capital funding objectives.
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising plan aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board concerning fundraising advancements, financial outcomes, and key performance metrics.
  • Direct annual giving campaigns, fundraising events, major gifts, corporate and foundation contributions, public grants, and stewardship programs.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with a diverse array of donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, ensuring a balanced and sustainable revenue stream.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board to recruit, develop, and engage board members who resonate with our mission and fundraising goals.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Marketing to devise and implement a robust marketing plan aimed at enhancing visibility and community engagement.
  • Act as the organization’s principal spokesperson, advocating for our mission and vision within the community.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing development team, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work culture.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional leadership and organizational capabilities, along with strong project management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities, with a proven track record in developing compelling donor materials and impactful presentations.
  • Team-oriented approach, with demonstrated effectiveness in collaborating with staff, board members, and donors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management software, along with digital marketing tools.
  • Expertise in analyzing donor databases and fundraising metrics to inform strategic growth.
  • Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required (a Master’s degree is preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in fundraising, donor development, and nonprofit management, ideally in a mission-driven organization.
  • A history of securing major gifts and managing a comprehensive donor portfolio.
  • Experience in developing and managing annual giving programs, capital campaigns, and corporate partnerships.

    Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary : (100,000 – )110,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
