Job Overview

We are in search of an innovative and dedicated Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our expanding network of charter schools that cater to students with dyslexia. This pivotal leadership position presents a unique opportunity to influence and refine the operational processes within a network committed to delivering an innovative and research-based education to children who often face challenges in traditional educational environments. As an essential member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every student, faculty member, and staff member experiences excellence, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and ongoing enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and collaboration with the executive team to establish organizational objectives and drive operational strategies across all campuses.
  • Oversee operational functions including food service, facilities management, IT, and school safety to ensure effective daily operations.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal policies.
  • Collaborate with school leaders to develop and implement standardized systems and processes to foster consistency and alignment across the network.
  • Lead and manage significant projects and initiatives, adjusting to the organization’s evolving requirements.
  • Offer strategic guidance and support to School Operations Officers (SOOs) in the effective management of daily school operations, including attendance and substitute coordination.
  • Manage technology systems and IT support, ensuring optimal functionality of hardware and software for both staff and students.
  • Guarantee that school facilities and the central office maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and maintenance.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors, swiftly addressing service-related issues as they arise.
  • Support SOOs in managing student behavior, discipline, and other related matters, aligning with the school’s core values.
  • Enforce compliance with operational policies and oversee the development and execution of safety protocols, preparing all individuals for emergency situations.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience in a leadership or operational management capacity.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing small to mid-sized teams.
  • Preferred

  • Background in public charter schools or familiarity with educational operations.
  • Experience in administrative leadership within sectors such as healthcare, non-profit, or operations management.
  • Local ties or familiarity with Baton Rouge or other regions of Louisiana is advantageous.

  • A competitive salary range of (100,000 to 130,000) annually, commensurate with experience.
