Job Overview

Cooperative Home Care Associates is in search of a strategic and innovative Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) to spearhead our daily operations and propel business growth. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the President and CEO, will be instrumental in steering the organization’s future by managing essential business functions, ensuring operational excellence, and nurturing a culture of collaboration and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, facilitating effective communication between leadership and the wider organization.
  • Formulate and execute business strategies that resonate with the company's mission and long-term objectives.
  • Enhance operational efficiency through the analysis of performance metrics and the implementation of key initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and teamwork while overseeing departments such as Finance, Business Development, and Clinical Operations.
  • Develop initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability across the organization.
  • Manage operational timelines and employee performance while fostering an inclusive, high-performing team environment.
  • Guide the revenue strategy to ensure sustainable growth and financial stability.
  • Evaluate financial results and take necessary actions to optimize performance and achieve organizational goals.
  • Build partnerships and negotiate agreements with key stakeholders to broaden service offerings.
  • Advocate for a commitment to high-quality care and promote advancements within the industry.
  • Sustain strong relationships with the Board of Directors and support governance functions.
  • Provide regular financial and programmatic updates to leadership and the Board.
  • Engage actively in board committees and strategic decision-making processes.
  • Establish and nurture productive partnerships with contractors, service providers, and community organizations.
  • Strengthen collaborations with labor unions and advocacy groups to drive industry improvements.
  • Represent the organization at significant business functions, community events, and professional networking opportunities.
  • Champion worker-ownership and cooperative business models to enhance economic solidarity.
  • Collaborate with cooperative organizations to elevate industry standards and promote best practices.
  • Drive innovation by introducing new programs and service improvements that benefit both clients and staff.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a relevant field (MBA preferred).
  • Over 10 years of senior leadership experience, demonstrating a proven record in strategic and operational management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, financial planning, and revenue management expertise.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing diverse teams and cultivating a values-driven culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to navigate complex challenges while driving continuous improvement.
